I'm back in aussie for my equine clinic rotation, which basically means working with horses which isn't exactly my forte. Such an irony that i was born in the year of the horse. Guess all horses are proud and temperamental in a way..though they are herd animals, they aren't exactly all that "herdy" too.....oh well...
I like this horse named "In Like Flynn"..though i'm not exactly sure what that means. He's pretty well-disciplined although naughty at times. I am still apprehensive about leading horses because of what happened yesterday when i accidentally left one of the gates opened a gelding (castrated male) named Rambo took off and created a commotion within the paddocks. Rambo is such a pushy, bad-tempered and domineering horse, always ready to challenge anyone in its sight. I don't like that horse. Bad bad horsie.
Dr. Guy taught us how to give the horses injections this afternoon. I felt quite dumb because i couldn't answer most of his questions. I had a go at injecting saline into a horse's jugular vein. During the process, i was so spooked because i felt like Dr. Guy was breathing down my neck and ready to jump on me. I got confused about dorsal/ventral directions because i was so freaking nervous...ergh. Besides that little confusion i had, my needle went in quite ok and i completed the injection after awhile.
I feel so inadequate, dumb and tired now..can't wait to go back to sg for chinese new year...spend some last moments with daniel before i psych myself up for school again. Anyone miss me yet?
