I didn't sleep last night...went through my bacteriology notes at least 5 times. Gulped 3 mugs of coffee throughout the night and ended up retching and throwing up in the morning. All that caffeine left my intestinal muscles all flaccid and lax...felt nauseous for the entire day. I did my intrasem exam as best as i could although i was feeling really faint and dizzy. I just scribbled whatever i could...think i went out of point for one entire essay but i gave my best shot anyhow. And that is enough for me..knowing i tried my very best. Being a bummer all my life, it was a compliment when Pauline said she is finally witnessing the hardworking side in me.

I basically felt like i was floating around for the entire day...without legs and without a head. Went to garden city (and bull creek later on) in search of a siamese fighting fish. I wanted a blue one to be named after my precious cosmicblue, but all i found were cream-coloured ones. I checked out some websites and those were probably the cellophane/clear ones....which are not really that appealing aesthetically to me. I still prefer the royal or steel blue ones....a red one would be nice too (and that one will be christened "sunburst" after my gibson). Siamese fighting fishes come in turquoise/green/yellow/pastel white/albino (red eyes)/black.....but i guess these are harder to come by. I'm gonna go back to Bullcreek tomorrow to see if the new fishes are in yet. I might just ask if i can get the pastel white ones (with dark eyes)....i would definitely name that one Jem after one of dan's favourite axe. Tanks of fighters named after our guitars....how nice!

The last i heard about breeding these fighters was a story about how the male grotesquely killed a female (courtesy of fenderben who keeps his fighters in the weirdest place of all - the toilet)....however dan's colleague at combo gave him some really handy tips which i reconfirmed reading different websites put up by breeders of these bettas. Seems that a period of conditioning (for the female to buildup her supply of eggs) is needed before the female is actually physically introduced to the male and even after the initial introduction, there may still be some flaring and violence. Alright enough...like anyone is interested. But i am interested...and so is dan...this idea of breeding is fun (breeding the fishes i mean)...hahhaa...ok the lack of sleep is making me corny.

.. sleepy. sleepy. sleepy. i amused myself by taking this shot while i was mugging last night ..

Trivia : The scientific name for the Siamese fighters is "Betta Splendens". Pretty name isn't it?
