I got my bettas! My fighters! I ended up getting 2...one from some fish shop along my street and another from bullcreek. Got 2 royal blue ones though.....i saw one blood red one and nearly got that....but ended up only getting one from that fish shop. Went window shopping at bullcreek later in the day and decided to get another blue one (because there were no more red ones there and i didn't want the yucky cellophane ones heh)...I'm still conditioning the water now and haven't released my fighters into their new homes..here's a sneak preview though.

I got this cool tank which has 2 compartments. Read that the fighters still need the stimulation sometimes so i got the compartmentalised tank so that my fighters can still exert their masculinity without bloodshed. The fish shop guy told me to get some plastic plants so that when they're tired of all that flaring, there's a resting place for them to relax and feel safe. No live food for them too because they are really fastidious (i wanted to get tubifex worms/brine shrimps for them today but the fish guy told me that was a big no-no) and feeding them live food will spoil them and they will never accept other kinds of food. No flakes for them too. The Betta pellets are friggin expensive and i was told to feed them 2 pellets per day. TWO?! Somehow i doubt that....the pellets are way smaller than a peppercorn...two? I think i better use my own discretion on this. Anyway i tried to take pictures of my fighters in their plastic bags just now but they turned out too fuzzy...tomorrow..tomorrow.

For some reason, i am feeling rather happy today. Went to school and had my nutrition lecture on Vitamin E and Selenium. Dr Nick Costa was real nice and ran through yesterday's lecture again because he knew many of us skipped classes for our "urgently pressing engagements" (which was our Bacteriology exam heh)....lecturers in aussie are nice as compared to sucky NUS. I was just talking to daniel yesterday about all the pointless practs i had to do (or rather i skipped) when i was doing zoology in NUS. The practs involved gross activites ranging from doing something to a duck that has been shaved....to spinning or doing something of that sort to guppies....to injecting caffeine into live chick embryos. What the fuck?!!??! NUS sucks. Aussie sucks too but at least my school doesn't...what a relief...hahha..

Happy me...please stay. Counting down the days to going home and seeing dan again.

Trivia : Not sure if this one is true but sibling fighters from the same brood do not attack each other. Shame on humans and all that sibling rivalry heh.....
