Went to "The Stables" at Yanchep for horse-riding today. After the initial 5 minutes of paranoia that i was gonna fall off the horse, i felt miraculously comfortable. Being born in the year of the horse, i always liked them until i had some bad experiences with obnoxious horses at Murdoch. I dunno why, but it seems that i am more comfortable and relaxed ON a horse rather than being next to one. Maybe it's just the fact that whenever i'm next to one, i always seem to have to perform some feat like picking up its hoof, putting a dreaded tube down its nose blahblah. Finally i can be with a horse just letting it be itself...and that is to run.
I got a horse named Cannon. Cannon and Shannon, how cute! It was alright except that he reared a little at times and i had to yell and pull him back. The girl who led the 3 of us actually let me be the lead horse and i had to manoeuvre Cannon so that he was on the right path and the other horses would follow. Ended up leading 20 horses cos other groups joined in, how cool was that! I am starting to think that i do have something with horses. Cannon was a little bit of a scaredy cat and sprang up when a kangaroo hopped by. Saw some really breathtaking scenery, rode down to the Indian Ocean...beautiful.
This stable actually organises romantic rides which starts 2 hours before evening....can already imagine riding on the beach watching the sunset....told daniel i'll bring him there if he comes over...can't wait.
