Back!
Got back from Albany last night at approximately 1130pm. I had a great trip and it was a pity that i didn't have time to go sightseeing or shopping. Anyhow, the people in the Ag Dept were generally nice (albeit eccentric at times) and i really enjoyed myself playing the role of a rural vet for a couple of days. Scored in the injury department yet again (my hand was slammed on the head bail by one of the many crazy cows we examined and is now bruised big time), but that didn't do anything to diminish my vigour and enthusiasm! It was just great hanging out in the sun, breathing in the whiffs of hay and silage (and cow poo) and cracking our brains over the cases presented to us.
The trip wasn't as tiring as most other groups of students claimed to be. I shared a flat with 2 lovely girls and it was just swell having their company. After abstaining from alcohol for awhile (for the sake of my liver as well), i just couldn't care less when bottles of champagne, red wine and gin tempted me. Best thing was that it's all free! I didn't get trashed of course (i'm already 26), all i wanted was to enjoy the warm, fuzzy feeling of being slightly tipsy.
Damn me for not bringing my digital cam cos the scenery there was really breathtaking. I really want to drive down to Albany again if i ever get the chance, but that will probably only happen after i graduate.
Oh, and Beauty's going off to her new home today *sobs*. We've also struck a deal with the pet shop owners at Garden City to take Coal and Cobra in 2 weeks' time. Hopefully, this story has a happy ending and these guys land themselves in good homes with owners that will love and pamper them for the rest of their lives.
