Giving

The Spirit Of Giving

J.M Barrie's classic must be one of the most magical tales ever told. After spending 16 days with Tiffanie, I wish i can just transform into Peter Pan, run away to NeverNeverLand, and never ever learn about the perils of growing up.

Growing up can be such a pain. I think i'll have to accept the fact that we all have to sell out (or even sell our souls) at some point of time in Life.

Sell your soul, reap all the benefits, then talk. When you start out green and inexperienced, there's no room for dreams or ideals. I'm lucky to even be able to fulfill my dream of becoming Dr. Dolittle. Well i still have shitloads of ideals and beliefs about how everything should function, but i constantly remind myself that i'm not in Utopia (or NeverNeverLand)and sometimes, you just have to conform to be a non-conformist. Sounds ironical? Too complicated. Never you mind then.

I've been busy packing my stuff. I didn't realise i have so much books and notes. Some idle fella counted the pages of notes we had last year, and it came up to a whooping 7600+ or so! I'm killing too many trees, heeeelllllp! I have alot, alot, alot of waste-paper, like past year papers that i didn't print on double sides (damn, i REALLY am a tree murderer!!! ack!), but Auntie Rachael was kind enough to help me recycle all this paper and use 'em for writing her business accounts and stuff.

Auntie Rachael is a legend, though an overly zealous one that sometimes freaks me out. She was super generous when the whole family went down to her cafe for dinner last Thursday. We're usually pretty apprehensive there because she stuffs us with so much food and refuses to take any money. Her brother is a friend of my parents and we hardly even know her till we came to Perth. The first time i went to her place for dinner, i left the place with so much food that i suspect could even feed an Ethiopian family for a month. AND that was only the second time i met her! I marvel at her spirit of giving. The world needs more people like her.

Christmas is just around the corner and my voice hasn't really returned to normal yet. I love singing Christmas carols and i'll croak if i have to!

And so the countdown begins. 10 days more to home sweet home! What's on YOUR x'mas wishlist? You tell me!
