2005

Hello 2005, Goodbye Calculus!

I finally visited the dentist to polish my pearly whites yesterday afternoon. I've procrastinated for the past 14 years and i'm really very proud of myself. Dr. Lee was amazed by the condition of my teeth (considering the fact that i haven't seen a dentist for more than a decade) because "other than the calculus deposits on the gumline, everything else looks very good". She also commented that i have "very beautiful teeth". Grin, grin, grin. I can't help admiring my teeth whenever i have the chance to. For your information, i have a full set of genuine teeth (as if that's something to be proud of, duh!). No cavities, no fillings. NOW, beat that!

Another new year is here again and it's a wonder how quickly the last 12 months just whizzed by. To be honest, 2004 was a shitty year for me, but with faith and a whole lot of TLC and support from my family, i got through some pretty tough times. I lost someone precious to the hands of Death, but I pulled a couple of lives back from Him too. Sophie's one of them. So is Dee and her 2 brothers.

I guess in essence, life's about winning and losing, creating and destroying. Without the bitterness that life entails, the joy of living is often taken for granted. In retrospection, it was not such a bad year after all. At least I've finally graduated after 5 long years. 20 years' worth of dreaming and all that hardship was worth it. Sweeeeet.

I do have some resolutions for 2005 and i hope that when the new year comes to an end, i can look back and give myself a pat on the shoulder for whatever i've achieved.

1) Get my pet therapy project going. I'm starting a society which promotes the idea of improving people's well-being through animal interaction. Everything is still in the initial stage, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Email me for more details if you're interested in being part of the committee or just being a volunteer.

2) Record my solo album.

3) Start jamming and play more gigs. My real BIG one will be at Victoria Concert Hall in May and i really need to start practising soon.

4) Be a good vet and try not to compromise my own belief and principles as much as possible.

5) Get Chester's training started and hopefully trial him in either obedience or agility.

6) Remember that Life is a luxury and treasure every single friend and family member.

Happy New Year, everyone!
