Shelving Shannon
I finally got a bookcase from Ikea! 39 bucks for a 59x171 unit....what a steal.
Dad and I spent last night assembling the shelf. Lotsa hammering and screwing. I think i make an okay carpenter though. Heh. I love assembling my own furniture because the sense of satisfaction after it all can be pretty shiok.
Met Alex, an old friend yesterday. Played in a band with him for awhile, and have been good friends with him since then (but it's a pity we lost contact after awhile). He has always been the frantic sort and when he saw me, he was lost for words and started waving his hands frantically.
I think he wanted to give me a hug but i hesitated because i didn't know if it was the right thing to do (Hmmmm?). In the end, we decided to just shake hands instead. Hugging is SO not rocker. Haha! That was probably more appropriate because i think he was with his girlfriend and i didn't want to run the risk of being boxed. Anyway, we exchanged numbers and will probably meet up in the near future. Really glad to have bumped into him.
Dr. A called me this morning to inform me that i can start work next Monday. WoohOOooOO cos i'm pretty psyched now, but boohooOOooo cos it's the end of my life as a professional bummer!
I need to revise my SA medicine as well as all my surgical techniques. I still have quite a bit of packing to do. It's amazing how much books and shit i've accumulated the last 5 years in Aussie. I need to meet up with people before i start work.
I think i'll be pretty zonked out by the end of the week.
