1) Do you think there's hope for the indie rock scene in Singapore, and would you quit your present job to be a fulltime musician anytime soon?

First, i'd like to clarify something. I am not in the indie rock scene. I am in the technical, "i can play 1234567 notes per minute" kinda rock scene. BUT that's besides the point. (HAHA)

I think there are definitely a few brilliant local brands, and considering the fact that so many more youngsters are being exposed to bands and such, i'd say there IS hope for the indie rock scene. However, i really don't encourage playing 3 chords all your life, and many *cough* indie *cough* bands tend to fall into that and still live in the delusion that they're okay. So yeah, i think the indie scene needs more musicianship. Either that, or encourage more beautiful chicks to join bands. That should do it. There's hope for us.

Yes, i'd quit my job to be a full time musician, ONLY if it pays as well or if i have no obligations to my family. It's a real world man. I can't expect my parents to pick up my shit while i go around chasing dreams. So yeah, that's it.

2) You are a vet. How do you respond when drama queens go up to you and say "Doctor, I got stomachache?"

I'd say, "Get on the table, bitch!" Haha!

No, honestly. I've got people coming up to me and genuinely voicing out their health concerns and asking for my opinion. I generally don't make any comments unless i know them REALLY well. There is not much difference between the pathophysiology of human and animal diseases (animals DO get diabetes, kidney failure, gall/bladder stones too, you know?), so my family members actually do consult me about medical terms, drugs and illnesses whenever someone they know is sick.

Ok, i think i sidetracked. Erhem.

3) Share 5 important tips with the readers on how to care for their pets.

i) Obedience training IS neccessary. Dogs that bite owners are usually the result of the owner's negligence in teaching the dog good manners from young.

ii) Sterilise your animals if you don't intend to breed from them.

iii) Feed a premium diet (no supermarket brands please!), give them plenty of exercise, bring them for yearly dentals, vaccinations and check ups. Animals older than 8 years old should have regular bloodwork done to survey for various diseases.

iv) Drinking alot of water (common misconception is that drinking alot of water = good!) may be a sign of underlying diseases.

v) Give your pets unconditional love as they do to you. Teach them to respect you as a leader rather than fear you as a master.

4) You recently performed at the Victoria Concert Hall. Has that been a great motivation for you to get back into classical music? How did that feel?

It felt great. Surprisingly, i wasn't as nervous as i thought i'd be. I love the whole experience, plus the fact that i had time to bond with Dad while we practiced.

And yes, i'd really love to get back into classical music, and pick up where i left years ago. I don't think i'll ever give up playing music even when my fingers are knobbly and stiff.

5) How did your colleagues react when they realise you are a rock musician too? (or they haven't found out?)

Yeah they have. They secretly searched me on friendster and saw the picture of me and my guitar. I didn't intend for them to find out though! I think they were really surprised because i seemed like a subdued person and people who play rock music should act like wild childs to them. Then they discovered my tattoo and they were even more shocked. I think they were probably worried about me stealing drugs from the hospital for my own personal use....wahahhaha. Nah, i think they're cool about it.

I sometimes head bang (whilst i'm doing surgery) to a good rock song on the radio and it doesn't bother them.
