sat night
Saturday Night
I probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed on Saturday. I just felt out. Out of place? Out of tune? Out of sync? I almost wanted to slack the whole Saturday away but decided not to because i know i'd hate myself the following day.
I haven't shisha-ed for nearly a month and since Sharon has been dying to try it, we decided to head to Pahang Street. In the end, i was the junkie who hogged the hookah while she decided she prefers fags. No actually, i wasn't the ONLY junkie. Fucking decadent when we tuah and then exhale all that fume. My rockstar moment as Sharon puts it. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the bubbling that makes you high rather than the smoking itself.
We were seated outside where a Turkish band of some sort was playing. All that phrygiany melody and groovy rhythm was really chill out for me. Very soon, i was clapping to the beat and slapping the table along with the percussionist. Way cool! I asked the lady boss if i could go dance in their midst but she gave me this cold, hard glare which nearly freezed my soul. Ah, a dancing woman is probably sacrilegious to them! Too bad the boys were too chicken to join in.
Headed to Cosmos after midnight and spent the rest of the night there. I think Paw's fixated with the Turkish dance and the half squats. Doing that along with indie is salah-ly perfect. Heh.
I reckon the coming week is gonna be busy, which is good. Two jams and then the gig. It's definitely my honour to be their guest keyboardist. Nat says i'm expected to jam along with jazz chords. I'll just play all the wrong notes then! HAH! I wanna pick up jamming where i left it and play till my fingers can play no more.
While we were chatting about gig spots and jamming, it suddenly dawned upon me how long ago it was when "i gigged at area 22 with Ray Aziz", and "my band covered 'Dangerous', you know!" It feels like yesterday when i had so much fun with the band. There are some feelings that don't go away with time. I still smile when i think back.
Oh, whatever makes her happy, on a Saturday night. Oh, whatever makes her happy, whatever makes it alright.
3 songs on my mind now:
1) Saturday Night - Suede
2) Not One Night - Mr. Big
3) Midnight - Serenaide
(Edit: The "night" theme is purely coincidental.)
