Dream Theater was fucking brilliant!
Because this is their 20th anniversary tour, they didn't just play songs from Octavarium but also did stuff from their older albums which i totally dig. I called Dan immediately after i got home (note: it was 7am Singapore time then) and ranted non-stop, till i realised he had to get ready for work, and i was still soaked to the skin after walking back home in the rain.
I never thought i'd be able to see DT doing 'Under A Glass Moon' live, but i did! Totally blew me away, though i hated Rudess for improvising the keyboard solo. Heh. Fair enough his fingers were fucking flying all over the keyboard and i was relishing every moment on the big screen, but i still love the original Kevin Moore solo.
They played songs from their Majesty days, all the way up to the Octavarium album. A Fortune In Lies, Caught In A Web, Peruvian Skies, Pull Me Under, Metropolis I, Fatal Tragedy, Blind Faith, Endless Sacrifice....all killer, no filler. All DT fans who loved them since their early days would definitely dig this gig.
Anyway, tonight's my last in London. Will be jetting home tomorrow and will touch down noontime on Thursday. Sweeeeet. It can't be more perfect.
