Just Musing!

Went to teach keyboards at the Handicap Welfare Association with Dan this evening. There were supposed to be 5 students tonight but only 2 turned up. However, they were amazing! One of them used to play the piano before her muscles became too weak. The other one learned the harmonica before and was sorta attuned to music. It was one-on-one coaching and she learned to play "London Bridge" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb" in no time! We had a great time and i'm so awestricken by their positive outlook and zest for life.

Over satay and rojak, we were talking about how inspiring these people are despite their disability. Most of us, though able-bodied, spend our time doing meaningless things that contribute nothing to our own (or other people's) well-being. The kind of shit we lament about everyday is nothing compared to what they go through. It's kinda screwed up when i think about how some of us wallow in self pity and victimise ourselves at the most trivial setback. What the fuck.

I shall aspire to be a useful person.

Meanwhile, check out the pix i took for AlterEgo at Barcelona a few Saturdays ago.
