The SPCA School Sales at De La Salle was a blast and the amount we raised were a couple of hundred dollars short of TWO GRAND! In 3 hours!

I have never rolled up so many posters in my life and i can safely say that i'm a professional poster-roller now! The posters and the badges were the most popular items (uhm, even i myself grabbed a couple of those) and the kids were just so, so, so supportive.

I still think it's an innate thing, how all children love animals. But as usual, we adults come into the picture and thwart it all. Even if you as a parent loathe animals for some reason or another, the least you can do is teach your child to respect an animal. Something as simple as leaving an animal alone (instead of teasing and taunting it) is a good enough lesson.

It's a pity i cannot do school talks with the SPCA because most of the sessions fall on weekdays and like most singaporeans, i have a fulltime job and need to earn a living. I'd love to educate the young ones and raise their awareness on animal welfare issues and responsible pet ownership though. With the animal abuse cases on the rise recently, i'm worried about our younger generation.

On a lighter note, this is something worth celebrating.
