Oh Perfect Day!

So yeah, i've changed my layout and now it's in sync with the wedding blog!

Went to pick up the wedding bands yesterday evening and came home with a new pair of shoes too! I like funky flats and this one's a steal at $22 bucks! I'm definitely a shoe girl (yeah yeah, i'm also a bag, watch etc. girl too). I love Substance at Wheelock Place and definitely all the ah-lian shoe shops at FarEast (i heart Gripz!). Nothing beats finding a pair of great shoes at a low low price!

And yes, drainpipe skinny jeans are IN again! I wore my cropped ones to work today and someone asked me in jest if it was flooding outside. I can't remember the last time someone made this lame flooding joke, but coming from an Indian colleague who resembles one of those bollywood mamas you see on Arts Central (don't get me wrong, it's not meant to be derogatory!), i couldn't help but laugh out loud!

I'm in a great mood today, not just because i've got funky shoes and skinny jeans on (okay this is beginning to sound abit bimbotic but who cares?), but because Dan's gotten a new job and his status in the evil corporate world has been greatly elevated! Oh, not to mention a whooping increase in his paycheck too. He's gonna be a big fish now and no matter how much i say i don't give two hoots about power and status, having a certain extent of authority over others is not such a bad thing after all. To quote and unquote my boss (if you haven't yet heard this from me before): Power corrupts but it sure rocks!!

We're supposed to have an overdue dinner at The Line but because that most definitely WILL BE detrimental to the waistline (and we don't want to risk bursting the seams of clothes during the impending photoshoot), i've decided we should go for healthier steamboat instead! Coca or MaLa? Mmmmm.

So....Assistant Manager is he - i'm proud of him! Sounds quite good to the ears, at least mine. Was just lamenting about how my post will probably never, ever change unless i become a director or something, and Dan gave me the queerest expression as if i was mad. Yeah, DR can become AM, but AM can never become DR. That's what he taught me.

There's so much to say about this whole job hunt thing for him and it's almost like a trial for him as faith dwindled and hope was lost. It was really a test of faith for us but it's been proven again that the big man (read: God) knows what's best for us and all we have to do it trust Him and have faith.

I've never been a staunch Catholic all my life but i'm learning to appreciate spritual fulfillment more and more as i grow up. This is one of mum's favourite verses from the Bible (Dan: here it is!) and i think it more or less sums up my state of mind for the past 2 years or so.

Yeah so here goes, from Matthew 6:25-34.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat (or drink), or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?

Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them.

If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry and say, 'What are we to eat?' or 'What are we to drink?' or 'What are we to wear?' All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.

Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. "

Lovely words, isn't it? We've chosen a very beautiful reading for our wedding mass too and the passage is all about Luuuurrrve. I'll share it with y'all another time. :)

For now, oh perfect day!
