Let's Get Porky!!

Here's wishing one and all a great Lunar New Year! May the year of the pig be a prosperous and fruitful one for everyone!

This year, i had a superb birthday too - all thanks to my wonderful family, my spouse (to-be), friends and colleagues. For those whom i haven't had time to meet (but have mentioned giving me a dinner treat), i'm still available after this new year break! Muahahaha!

For the record, i had three birthday cakes which is abit much even though i have a sweet tooth! Someone in heaven probably baked me a kueh lapis too but i guess it'll be awhile more (though i really wouldn't know....) before i can collect the cake from her face-to-face. It's hard not to reminisce and think about her during festive seasons because all these years before she passed on, the best pineapple tarts, butter cookies and kueh lapis would come from her hands. Believe it or not, i still have vivid images of her plump, seasoned hands whipping up the dough in our old shophouse at Havelock Road......

Anyways, i have more to blog about and pictures to show (i have a snapshot of the cake someone baked for me!) but for now, you guys have a great time pigging out on bah kwas and pineapple tarts!
