Decadent Sunday

Pardon my overzealous attempts at blogging but i guess the combination of being in a nice hotel room with free internet access, being jet lagged and having too much time on my hands all play a part in this one-post-per-day phenomenon.

So i'm in Gator Land (Florida) now, where the oranges are supposedly uber juicy! It wasn't till i was watching CNN today that i realised (horror of horrors) that a bout of tornadoes had just chewed through Florida! I hope no one at home gets wind (no puns intended!) of this because i know how Mum and Dad can be such worry warts.

Was supposed to visit the museum today but my laziness got the better of me. Besides, Dan's suggestion of holing up in the room and enjoying food and tv sounded irresistable. So i ended up with room service and overdosed myself on American Teevee. Managed to watch Legally Blonde (for the kazillionth time), Lassie Come Home (i probably killed a forest using too much Kleenex!)various trashy celebrity gossip shows and at least 3 Scooby Doo movie. Oh and i'm halfway through "Marley and Me" - all dog lovers (especially if you've had one that's too much to handle) should read this book or be shot dead!

I just wish i could do this more often.

February is here and this is possibly my favouritest month in the year. I officially turn 29 this month and i announce that too often because i still can't believe i'm a decade older than the babies that were on an internship with us. I probably should be ashamed i still act like them but to be fair, i do act my age at times and play mother-hen to all the kids at work! Alice very kindly gave me a thank-you card which reminded me i'm about to become someone's wife soon and should stop being so playful and acting like one of 'em crazy poly students. Maybe i will, 20 years later or something.

If i were a dog , i've no doubt i'd be a Border Collie that is always ready to catch the next ball that's thrown my way and forever bubbling with zest for life (like an Eno drink)!

February is also the month where boyfriends become Robertos in the name of love! This year, to commemorate the occasion (my last year being a Miss), i've decided to give Dan a break while i do the recce-ing and reservation for our vday dinner. The husband will resume duty next year! Anyway, i'm not sure if it's a tradition or something but somehow we always wind up at an Italian restaurant on vday! I suppose the ambience and food (think Da Paolo's heart shaped tortellini!!!!) is more apt for a romantic occasion? As opposed to an Indian restaurant where the white roses might end up looking yellow because of too much tumeric powder in the atmosphere? Haha! There're a few Italiano joints on my list now but i'm having a hard time deciding which one we should go to cos everything on all the menus looks delishhhhh!

Oh, and there's Chinese New Year just around the corner too. This year, all Chinese around the world will eat their steamboat on CNY eve in my honour because my birthday happens to fall on the same day!

Anyways, so much about February. I'll be done with my last site visit tomorrow and will head home on Tuesday! I have a huge stack of notes to sort through and i probably have to do so before next weekend so i can do my debriefing and presentations when i get back to work. Well, they didn't pay for me to fly all the way here for nothing!!!

It was a shame that i wasn't around this weekend because the SKC trials were on and it was supposed to be Chester's debut for the jumpers event! Oh well, we'll work hard when i get home and hopefully, Kingsley and his S will join the next trials with us too!

See you soon!

3. Your room service is fully paid?! Quite shiok leh. Somemore got free internet access. Time to download all the mp3s anonymously.

4. Dun worry abt the trees. If they wanted to live, they'd all carry guns.

I went to one course but had to do two other site visits. I think cos there wasn't anyone more capable than me...that's why i got this "good" deal lor (taking into consideration i had to fly about 30 hours to get here)! HAHA.

I have a daily allowance, so as long as i make sure room service is within budget, it's paid for!!! :P

OH, and not camwhore la. camwhores are people who are narcissists, take pictures of themselves every minute, and put their own pictures as wallpaper on their handphones!

Though i may be one marginally, i like to think that i'm more of a person who appreciates great photos and is genuinely interested in the photography side. SO yes, photowhore it is!!! :P
