Purrfect Days
Olkgal read my last transient entry ( i deleted it cos i didn't think it was worth wasting virtual space and it was my last bid to be nice, if not zen towards the whole issue) and then msged me on msn to say hello just to make sure i was still friends with her! Haha! I'm still wondering about the cake thing though.....hmmm.
Anyway, Valentine's day whizzed by again but thank God i didn't let one person thwart the entire occassion by spoiling my mood. Dinner was at Riciotti's, which was Enotria - the restaurant we went last year. The food was not too bad but i think my vote still goes to Da Paolo for that beeeyooootiifulll Valentine's Day dinner we had 2 years ago or so.
We were somewhat strapped for cash this year and made a pact not to get anything too expensive for each other. In the end, he still got me a bouquet of white roses but according to him, the florist cheated him!! It was supposed to be a dozen but somehow when he went to collect the bouquet, they only gave him seven roses mixed with some other weird white flowers that do not in anyway resembled the holland roses he asked for. It was still a lovely lovely lovey bouquet though!
I also received an intricate and very lovely pair of pearl earrings. I was really touched because i i think it was only a casual comment when i mentioned wanting to get one of 'em pearl earrings when we were shopping together. He actually remembered. :)
On my side, I got him a Braun Buffel wallet and it seems that we get each other wallets all the time! Well unlike careless me who has a tendency to lose things, his wallet is forever falling apart. I developed some of the recent shots from our wedding shoot in 2R pocket size format, and slotted them into the photo compartments of the wallet. I didn't want to give him the wallet (in the typical box) because it would be sooooo predictable and i for some reason, am a sucker of surprises (both giving and receiving).
So i chucked the wallet into a heart-shaped precious moment gift box and packed it with lotsa ferrero rocher! Of course, he couldn't guess what the present was despite shaking the box and cracking his brains ("Eh..like alot of things inside leh!"). Oh, and he also got a chain with a pick (plectrum) pendant - something that i've always wanted make for him that i know he'll definitely love, but never ever got the chance to! Erm, i still didn't make this one though (got it from one of the NUS bazaars), but i hope he likes it nonetheless!
Some pics from the dinner:
That's my main course - snapper fillet with crispy potato. And the heart shape is made from mashed zucchini! Opposite me is Dan (you can only see his hands unfortunately) furiously sawing on his veal. Heh!
Lovely dessert made of dark chocolate and raspberry sauce! The sauce and cream was too sour for my liking but the heavenly chocolate cake and moouse made up for everything! Sweeeet.
Gimme some more!!
More eye candy later! 12 hours more before i officially turn 29! Bring on the cake, the booze, the pressies and the long weekend!
