Dancing With Yankees
This is the view from my room at Marriott. Very picturesque, post-cardy and so very pretty, isn't it? If only i had someone to share this beautiful sunset with! Managed to mms this to Dan and he agreed it was indeed a sight to behold....so oh well, at least someone i love got to witness this with me - Thank God for technology!
So i survived the insane, gruelling 30 hours of multiple flights (Singapore to Frankfurt to New York to Washington to South Carolina) and arrived in Charleston safe and sound. The pig course went well, albeit some apprehension on my part at the start. My worries were unfounded and it felt like i was back at Murdoch working with angmohs all over again. It wasn't bad at all and in fact, i had loads of fun doing lotsa stuff i've always wanted to do but never got the chance to.
I don't think i necessarily hate working with angmohs, but i've always felt the need to prove a point and that is, we (i.e. asians) are definitely not inferior to them. Anyway, i had to demonstrate a certain surgical procedure to the rest of my angmoh coursemates so that was pretty cool to me, having my 5-minute chance to fly the Singapore flag high.
Anyway, I left Charleston today and flew to Alabama via Philadelphia. Tomorrow's gonna be quite scary as i'll need to do a visit at one of the local universities. Just realised that my itinerary states that i'll be the guest of honour for the luncheon and i'm supposed to do an infomal speech of some sort when i meet all these people!! Argh. Sometimes i feel that i'm made to wear shoes that are too big for my comfort but i suppose it's a good learning experience and hopefully this will pay off in March when my bosses deliberate who gets a bigger share of the pie.
Alrite, gonna take a shower and go jot down some points for my "speech" tomorrow. I'll have internet access in Alabama so for all those who miss me, i'll be contactable via msn (except for the fact that the time difference between me and you will be 14 hours). Laters.
