Saturday, Sunday......Monday Again!
Weekends are now equivalent to getting more bruises, stiff necks and muscle aches (all thanks to Chester stomping all over us during frisbee training), but it's all cool and we're both exhilarated by his progress. Slowly but surely like i always say, but his learning curve is definitely steeper than the both of us! If you haven't seen dogs doing some serious frisbee, go check it out at youtube (just do a search on dog, frisbee, border collie, vaulting or whatever)! You'll be amazed, i promise!
Just 2 weeks ago, with the help of our very garang trainer, we were teaching him to do crossovers (jumping over an outstretched leg). Now, he's already got the hang of leg vaults (using our leg as a stepping board of some sort to leap even higher) and has started to do some basic back vaults (same principle but this time, jumping off our backs).
Pardon me for getting carried away - never seem to be able to stop blabbering about the dog.
Anyways, the weekend was tiring but fulfilling. Kickstarted Saturday with keyboard lessons and the 50-minutes was well spent on a student who's a fast learner with a good attitude. So what if she's already 30-plus and doesn't have any music background? The mere fact that she's always wanted to learn the piano since young plays a big part in her determination to get things right and nail whatever i teach her.
It's the heart la. THE HEART!
Saturday evening was as usual - training with the dog in preparation for the upcoming trials. When we got home, i didn't forget to tell him that he had been a great dog (albeit grumpy to baby Baileys) and that i'll always be there to support him and bring him to wherever his limits take him to. Er yeah, laugh all you want!!!!
Sunday was spent with my folks and Dan's folks - food tasting for the wedding dinner! Everyone was pretty pleased with the food and we basically didn't have much comments or complains (erm, except for the jellyfish that was slightly hard?). I think we're both taking the wedding quite relaxedly (if there's such a word) and no one's fretting, stressing the other party out and turning into Bridezilla or Groomzilla. Sure we worry about money now and then but the union will be our BIG moment (after nearly a decade!) and that's probably all that matters. Can't believe May is gonna be here soon and we'll be celebrating our 9th anniversary together - been one year since i got my bling-bling! Time really flies!
Dropped by Dan's gramma's place after food tasting and mama (now she's my mama too, well almost!!) was only too happy to see her favourite grandson. Kept sayanging both of us and saying we're very kiang (hokkein for smart)!! First time someone says i'm kiang without having to do anything.....hahaha! Chatted a l'il with her about Dan's baptism, our wedding, our new house and she in turn casually reminded us she's anxious to be a great-grandmama! I think we're both glad that our small gesture brought her so much joy, probably much more that we can imagine.
This week's gonna be packed, i anticipate. But hey, there's always the weekend to look forward to!! Wheeeeee!
