My Week

看海的日子

It's been a helluva week and i'm bombed out! Let's see...last Friday, a couple of us from work decided to reward ourselves after a long week and hence, headed to HV to quench our thirst. We ended up entertaining ourselves playing five-ten, chee-koo-pak and rounds after rounds of daidee. I don't think i can keep up with chionging too frequently (getting old i know!) but chilling out over drinks with friends now and then is a great way to unwind and just have fun.

Saturday morning, we took the dog out to meet other dogs (and their humans) at Sentosa. Was just telling Dan, this is the life man! Lazy Saturday morning...brought the dog out with us, had breakfast at Telok Blangah kopitiam (Chester ate one big char siew pau in 3 seconds?)...chilled out at the beach and just lazed the day away. We probably will do this more often once we get married and settle down, that is IF we have no household chores to do! Heh!

Sunday was spent going for Mass as usual. Headed to vivocity and had lunch at Carnivore, which is a new Brazilian cafe sorta. The buffet looks yummilicious but we didn't have much time left before the buffet station closed so we opted for the ala-carte sandwiches instead! STILL, we'll definitely give the buffst a try in the near future. Rest of the Sunday was spent recuperating from Friday's booze and Saturday's sun and sea.

Slave to the grind again on Monday. Things have been a tad crazy at work but thank God for great colleagues, we pulled through with everyone's hard work. I can't say this enough but i'm so grateful for having them! Not only do we share work, we share life experiences with each other and even though some of them are barely in their twenties, they're great kids, very sensible and have taught me many things about living a life worth living. In return, i try to help and guide them in as many ways possible, just as if they were my own kids, or siblings as a matter of fact.

Yesterday was the bestest because it was our 9th anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year since i received my bling. We were talking about it yesterday and were laughing at how hilarious the whole situation was. You see, Dan had hid the ring in his pocket and was panicking the whole night long, worried he'd drop the ring. I, on the other hand, didn't expect the ring at all. Even after he tricked me into opening a box which contained the diamond magnifier thingie, i still didn't know what was happening until he told me to peer into the magnifier which of course, had the 2 magic words MAGNIFIED (read: MARRY ME?) and screaming at me. It wasn't until he whipped out the ring finally that i realised what was going on. The rest is history la. :)

So yesterday, we headed to The Line. Standard of food seemed to have dropped but i enjoyed the night nevertheless. I had to (stupidly yet again) ask Dan what 9 roses stood for and he looked at me flatly in mock disbelief. Okok, 9 years so 9 roses, i just didn't think he would be that thoughtful (i thought only stupid girls do things like that!! btw, i gave him 23 presents on his 23rd birthday ok...so i actually do qualify as a stupid girl!) but now i know he is indeed thoughtful and very sweet....BLEAH. Ended the night exchanging presents and tearing away at the wrappers like kids during x'mas time. We probably will celebrate this anniversary again for the last time next year (10 years!) and then go on to celebrate our wedding anniversaries from there on.

Can't wait for next month when we can finally start a new chapter of lives together. :) Btw, will be sending out the red bombs soon so look out for them!!!
