Sweeter Than Honey

I've finally left my singlehood days behind and got hitched last weekend!

Still very overwhelmed by the love and support from both my family and my husband's family. I got a warm welcome from my new cousins (in-law) and especially Dan's grandma (now my mama too!) whom the relatives were all making fun of because she couldn't bear to let go of my hand even when everyone was making their way home!

One of Dan's cousin who got married last month wrote a very, very touching card for both of us and that was only one out of the many other lovely cards we got! My colleague, Jerry designed and drew a silver ang pow packet for me and i was super touched when i received it. Tiffy chose a pair of llamas (muahahhaha!) from Tender Tails as a wedding gift for me and her new yi zhang (姨丈). And then there was also a video ipod from my cousin Jeffrey and Jerry (specially for me to store Chester's videos so i can show off, that's what i was told), singing teacups from my cousin Andrea and lotsa lotsa pretty jewellery. There was just so so so so so much love around from our family, relatives and friends, and i just can't seem to thank them enough!

We managed to personally visit and thank an auntie who gave us a hefty sum as a wedding gift. My colleagues were super and i promised them that as soon as i get back to work, we'll set a date so i can buy them all a good seafood dinner. Nof forgetting all the relatives, cousins, my jiemeis and dan's brothers who gave their 100% for the wedding. We'll really need to personally thank them for all the help they gave us!

Dan and I have been rewatching our video highlights (which was shown during the dinner) again and again and again, laughing, reminiscing and shedding more tears. The sms-es and msn messages of well wishes are still coming in like the tsunami (probably not a good analogy but nevermind) and we have got requests from friends asking us to burn a copy of our wedding montage/video highlights.....some have asked for a copy of the songs played during the wedding dinner....and some wanted to know the titles of the songs used during our march-in and videos and what-nots. My 2nd boss who is now in Boston sent a card with an enclosed ang pow to me.....Priya who will soon become a dentist (and is now stuck in Adelaide doing her exams) sent me a pair of very very very lovely kissing stuffed hedgehogs toys....Xiu who couldn't make it back called me just minutes before the dinner to congratulate me and Dan.....even Dan's uncle Jeff rang us all the way from Illinois to apologise for not being there and to offer his best wishes!

I know this is just the beginning but life has never been sweeter than now and i've never been happier. Both of us have been smiling and giggling and thanking each other for every single thing - if we looked younger, we could have been mistaken for secondary school kids in love! One of Dan's cousin sent me a text message yesterday to thank me for making her cousin such a happy man because she's never seen him smile so happily ever! I hope that for the rest of my life, i can always make my husband smile.....
