Down South!

It's great to be able to blog again after rectifying the problem which caused my new posts not to show up. I almost abandoned this place for a new one at livejournal but i couldn't bear to, since i've been here for about 7 years already! And yes yes, i'm still gonna continue posting pictures from the wedding so there, that's the pair of wedding Mickey and Minnie that my lovely colleagues got for me while they were holidaying in Hong Kong! They certainly came in handy as part of the decor for the reception table!

Anyways, on the subject of holidays, we will not be heading to Japan as planned because of a whole lotta reasons. Instead, we'll be heading back to Perth and will do a road trip down south to Margaret River and Augusta. Most most most most importantly, we'll also be catching the Perth Royal Show which we always wanted to catch again since the last time we did, and that's already a couple of years back!

Everytime we talk about the Royal Show, you can almost see our eyes instantaneously light up! We went home with a huge loot (of stuffed toys that we won from the game stalls) the last time round and we definitely intend to do the same this time!! Imagine - game stalls, fun rides, lotsa animals (show jumping and dressage competition for horses, cat and dog shows, obedience and agility trials, pig racing, sheepdog demos and much more!), show bags (dan will probably want his willy wonka hat this time!), lemonade, sizzling sausages, hamburgers, lamb chops and last but not least, watching fireworks under the starry sky!!!!!

Btw, this is us with our biggest win at the last Royal Show we attended - a huge white gorilla that's affectionately known as "SengSeng". Took us hell lot of time and haggling (and money to change tokens) to get it but when we finally got it, it was definitely a "yes! yes! yes!" (plus fist punching in the air) moment!

Okay, and here's a picture of the victorious man!

We've checked out the car rental services and the flight has already been booked. I still pretty much remember how to drive around Perth so i guess it should be pretty convenient for us to get around. I'm also waiting to see if a friend can let us crash in her house while we're in Perth itself.

So so so so many places we want to revisit again because after all, Dan and I share alot of good memories there and we've been talking for eons about going back to Perth again. So so so so so much food that we wanna savour again - dim sum (Dan's favourite giant crab and meat patties!! my har gowwww!!), fish and chips/seafood chowder from Freo, jap food from Nishi, Murdoch's asian food caravan, South Ocean, Chicken Treat.......damn, i'm salivating already!

My only worry is of course Chester and the cats but i guess my consolation is that they're in safe hands with my folks and Chester pretty much sticks with them when i'm not around. Having 1 dog that you love too much, 1 young cat that needs to grow up and 1 old cat that needs constant medical attention is as good as having kids...though there's always a lurking suspicion in my mind that the kids probably wouldn't turn out half as obedient as the pets! Well, we'll see...hahaha!
